North Idaho and the area around Sandpoint is farm and ranch country. People don't imagine Idaho as urban. We are as rural as they come. Our area has a long history of horse husbandry, and while potatoes were made famous by our cousins to the south of the panhandle, we have a great abundance of fresh grown fruits and vegetables, and locally raised herds. We have a spoiled and faithful laying flock of Silver Laced Wyandottes, Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, Black Austrolops, and Buff Orpingtons. We average a dozen eggs per day. Way more than we can use! They do treat us well and we love them in return.
